An interactive session between top management of Mitsubishi Corporation in Pakistan and Mitsubishi’s sponsored students at LUMS was conducted on November 15, 2018. The idea was to give scholars a chance to learn from rich experiences of Mitsubishi professionals by engaging in meaningful discussion with the guests. Event offered a very good opportunity for Mitsubishi to gauge the impact of their past contributions towards WASEDA University Exchange Programme and Financial Aid Programme at LUMS.

Mitsubishi corporation was represented by Mr. Kimihide Ando, Senior vice President and Chief Executive for Pakistan, and Mr. Mahir Abbass, GM Lahore Liaison Office. Mitsubishi Scholars were represented by Mr. Muahmmad Hamid Malka, a junior year student of BSc Management Science and Mr. Awais Khalid, a brilliant student pursuing his undergraduate in Anthropology and Sociology.

Dr. Arshad Ahmad, Vice Chancellor LUMS, encouraged and advised the students to explore their full potential and capabilities. Dr. Arshad had one-on-one discussion with Mr. Ando and discussed about similar educational opportunities.

Mr. Khalid, who went to WASEDA University on an exchange programme during 2017, gave an overview of his experiences in Japan and his learnings from this wonderful opportunity provided by Mitsubishi. Mr. Ando showed deep interest in the subjects and activities that the student undertook at WASEDA and was keen to talk about culture and traditions of Japan.

Mr. Malka, who is currently availing Mitsubishi Scholarship at LUMS, told guests about how the scholarship has helped him in pursuing the degree of his choice at the University. He further talked about the ethnic and cultural diversity of student body at LUMS which was another interesting point of discussion that drew a lot of interest from the guests.
